PHOTOGRAPHY 1900-1950 : 12 TOP-PHOTOGRAPHERS<\/h3>

In 1890, in USA, the Graflex-Camera and the Eastman-Kodak film are commercialised and bring about a new photography. As of 1900, new modern urban themes emerge in pictures, thanks to pioneers Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Steichen. A bit later, Lewis Hine realises his first sociological photo\u2019s against child labour. These have an important political impact and lead to the abolition of child labour in 1918. In 1925, 3 new inventions, the small and light Leica-Camera, the disposable flashbulbs and cheap printings processes bring about a new photography. A great number of photo-magazines emerge: Life, Time, Vogue, Harper\u2019s Bazar, ParisMatch. <\/em>The photographer becomes a \u201cphoto-journalist\u201d. <\/em>Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Dorothea Lange and Margareth Bourke-White become true \u201ccelebrities\u201d<\/em>. Edward Weston and Ansel Adams make wonderful art-pictures and landscapes. Man Ray elaborates surrealistic photos. Robert Capa creates war-photography. Richard Avedon makes his fashion pictures, full of phantasy.<\/p>
